The Glory of God

Episode Summary

Bible Text: John 2:1-11 NIV Remember when you were a child and you’d walk to the park or down the street and you’d see a flower or a dandelion and you’d pick it and you’d stare at it and marvel at the colors and then you’d close your eyes to smell it and then you’d touch it and be amazed at how soft and beautiful that flower or dandelion was. Or maybe you’d sit outside and look up at the stars and marvel at how many there were and wonder how can there be so many. Or maybe you went to a the beach and you’d look out at it’s vastness and wonder, who made all of this or how can the ocean be so big and contained and not spill over all over the earth. Maybe a beautiful fish at the aquarium or an interesting animal at a zoo. How about as an adult? Maybe you read some words penned to paper in the form of poetry or a novel and you are in awe that 26 letters can create such beauty. Maybe you’re a parent and you look at your children and you wonder how you could be so blessed to have God choose you to be their mama or dad? Their laugh or their creativity blows you away. I think of waterfalls and birds, and trees and lakes, and friendships, and songs, the laughter of my husband and his love for me, the laughter of my boys. I can sit here all day and ponder at all of the beauty that is in the world and there would never be enough lifetimes to share. Have you ever stopped to think that all the beauty in the world reflects God’s glory? The flowers, the stars, the moon, the sun, etc… all points to the glory of God. That’s what I want to talk to you about today.
